Neurology


The nervous system is the most important organ in leading a normal daily life in humans. The nervous system is composed of the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves, and consultation with a neurologist is required when there is an abnormality in these organs. Symptoms of neurological abnormalities are diverse.

If you exhibit the following symptoms, you need to see a neurologist without delay.

  • Decreased consciousness with confusion and slurred speech
  • Paralysis such as hemiplegia or paraplegia
  • Headache or neuralgia
  • Seizure
  • Dysesthesia such as numbness in hands and feet or sharpened sense of touch
  • Motor dysfunction in which the hands and feet tremble or limbs move involuntarily
  • Visual dysfunction such as diplopia or loss of vision
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Dysarthria or language dysfunction
  • Corners of mouth turning to one side
  • Dizziness or chronic rhinitis (sound in the ear/s)
  • Difficulty going up and down stairs or raising an arm
  • Gait disturbance such as swaying while walking like a drunken person or foot drop
  • Intermittent loss of strength in the whole body
  • Mental deficiency
  • Developmental and behavioral disorder
