The Cancer center was opened on April 25, 2007 in order to keep pace with the recent changes in the medical environment, such as the government’s policy to strengthen the security of cancer treatment and emphasis of improved medical quality for cancer patients. Separate treatments by each division have been changed to comprehensive care for each disease/organ through a collaborative system between the divisions, providing a patient-oriented one-stop cancer treatment.
The Cancer center, located at the side of the emergency medical center in the first basement of Cheongsonggwan, has facilities such as a hemato-oncology division, radiation oncology division, treatment planning room for collaborative treatment, counseling room for stem cell transplantation simulative imaging room, anti-cancer injection room, and so on. Specifically, it consists of a total of 8 clinics for each organ such as gastrointestinal cancer, lung cancer clinic, breast and thyroid cancer clinic, head and neck tumor clinic, urinogenital cancer clinic, nerve, muscle, and bone cancer clinic, blood cancer clinic, and pediatric cancer clinic. It also introduced the nurse system specialized in tumors to strengthen the management, description and education for outpatient care for cancer patients. It operates education sessions for early diagnosis of cancer and health education classes for citizens.
