제목 : Translational Imaging in Neurodevelopmental Disorders: Examining Epilepsy and Autism based on large-scale multimodal MRI.

일시 및 장소 : 2019년 5월 17일 5:00 PM 해운대백병원 세미나실A (5층) May 17, 2019 5:00 PM Haeundae Paik Hospital, Seminar Room A (5F)

Summary. Individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders benefit from early interventions and treatments. The development and validation of brain-based imaging markers to aid more precise diagnosis is therefore important clinical aim. The objective of this talk is to overview how recent translational neuroimaging has transformed disease phenotyping, especially in focal epilepsy and autism spectrum disorders, two highly prevalent developmental conditions. I will first introduce the current main challenges in these two disorders in terms of clinical diagnosis and treatments, and then possible imaging-based solution to mitigate those raised issues. In epilepsy, MRI-based automatic detection and network-based biotyping of focal epileptogenic lesions will be mainly discussed. In autism, recent approaches of multidimensional neuroanatomical brain subtyping and advanced connectome markers to dissect disease complexity will be introduced. Finally, I will briefly touch on shared commonalities between these two disorders and how they have been recently tackled based on multimodal neuroimaging.
